Liza Gough Daniels
was born in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. After completing
her studies at the Slade, and Cooper Union, New York (grad'85)
she has exhibited widely.
Her paintings reflect years of rigorous experiment with
pigments and painting supports.
Recent work continue explorations in pouring paint, both
directly on to walls and on to shaped panels.
Final surfaces appear in constant mobility, as colour
flows with the movement of materials.
The paintings are physical, experiential pieces where
deeper presences come through over time.
Recent architectural commissions for public and private
spaces have extended the scale of her work, producing
a new series known as Poured Walls as well as extending
her practice to include photography, design and landscaping
projects.
